6 Days Ghana Coast

Day 1:
You leave Accra around 7 am and arrive in Busua Beach around 12 noon.  You will be greeted at the African Rainbow Resort, located in the heart of Busua. It is new hotel, with elegant high ceilings, a terrace on the roof with an exquisite view of the ocean and town of Busua.

A guide will accompany you and driver on day tours to your choice of:  Fort Metal Cross (a 400 year old Castle) where you feel your heart rush at the history that enslaves this place, to Ellis Hideaway for an exciting afternoon boat ride to a quiet beach with a pleasant drinks and snack bar, or just hang out on Busua Beach at its small bars or and local ambiance.

Day 2:
Rise early on this day to visit Ankassa Rain Forest for a true ecological experience. This trip takes a full day and is for the hardy. It is a new reserve in Ghana and there are special monkeys that only live in this part of the world. The conservation society will give you an reward if you see one!
Alternatively, you may visit Axim, a beautiful bay with a 400 year old castle. If in season you may be able to scuba dive. Otherwise enjoy the view and discover the castle visit its ramparts…imagine the unimaginable. Enjoy lunch and drinks.
Return to the hotel for pizza or traditional foods as you desire.

Day 3:
A day of Marlin Fishing (October to June) or Whale Watching (July to December). You will leave the hotel at 7am and drive 20 minutes to Takoradi. There you will enjoy breakfast with Captain Hook, a seasoned German boat pilot who will take you out to the high seas for battle with titan Marlin or viewing of the giant whales that bask off the coast of Ghana.
Alternatively, a game of golf at the Takoradi golf course situated on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.  Once again those for golf will enjoy breakfast at Captain Hook’s and continue to the golf course a short 5 minute ride. Enjoy a unique terrain, browns instead of greens and roughs that redefine the word! Enjoy
Return to the hotel for a dance night and barbecue!  Learn to dance the highlife!

Day 4
Spend a leisurely morning on the beach or just sipping drinks and eating. A relaxing day to compare notes and decide if a ride out the mysterious ABOKWA ISLAND is enticing enough to arrange for a ocean going canoe to take you out over the breakers for a walkabout and picnic lunch on this small two palm island.  Take a ride on a hobe cat double hull sail boat and feel the rush of the wind into your face.
Late in the afternoon, ride to or walk to Fort Metal Cross for a barbecue on its ramparts, discuss the potential of the town enjoy a pleasant and unique evening.

Day 5
Depart Busua at 8am and continue to Elmina/Cape Coast a 1 hour drive. You will stay at the unique “1 Africa” Guest House, if you want some adventure on this beautiful spot groomed and overlooking the sea.  Alternatively you can stay at the well appointed Elmina Beach Resort.
After check in at the hotel, you will continue to Kakum for a walk over the 200 foot high cat walk. View the forest from on top of the canopy. After Kakum, return towards Elmina with a stop, lunch and drinks with the crocodiles at Hans Cottage Hotel.
Alternatively, you may tour the famous Elmina Castle and enjoy the afternoon at Coconut Grove beach where you can enjoy a swim in either the pool or the beach and a good lunch. Golf again? Yes there is a new 9-hole golf course at Coconut Grove.
Return to your hotel for a quiet evening.

Day 6
A leisurely morning departure to Accra.  In the afternoon, enjoy a bit of Accra, shopping and souvenir hunting, or just relax by the pool.
You will be at Sam’s Cottage for the night and leave the following day for Lagos.

Day 7
Depart for Lagos.
If late departure then you can enjoy Go-Karting, swimming, and billiards at the LA Raceway before visiting the Pleasure Beach “Baywatch”.  You enter through the Labadi Beach Hotel where you can a cool drink prior to adventuring out to the beach. At Baywatch overlooking the ocean will see fire-eaters and acrobats, enjoy the sea breeze and shop for souvenirs.

Indicative Pricing
This tour is double occupancy at hotels, breakfasts, VAT taxes, entrance fees, guide.  Includes rental air-conditioned sedan car for week (fuel, mileage, driver included
Airport pickup, hotels breakfasts and VAT Taxes are included.  Total prepaid cost to Nomad Africa is $1250, double occupancy.

You pay: Dinners be up to an additional $10-$15 dollars each.  Souvenirs and drinks are at your expense. You must pay directly to driver a $10 overnight fee. Air ticket reconfirmation is $5. Tips as you see fit.
Marlin fishing for up to 4 persons is an additional $1100.
Whale watching for up to 5 persons is an additional $750.

** Client is responsible for tips, drinks, and meals/snacks (other than breakfasts.)
Client is responsible for transport from Nigeria and return.

There is a variety of other day tours that can be combined to make a fantastic additional day or two in Ghana.  Monkey Sanctuaries, Ostrich Farms, Game reserves …the choice is yours.
